Review: Very good sound quality , better than expected. - I love good sound, and have spent way too much money on this "hobby" trying to improve a very budget setup. I have 3 DACs including Modi3, Sancrit Mk2 and Project Pre Box digital S2. I run all these dacs through multiple Pro-ject amps into Dali speakers with expensive cables. I setup a Rasberry Pi3 in my workshop with the Hifiberry Pro+ Dac. I was very happy withe the sound. So I decided to try the Hifiberry DAC2 HD in my office setup after chatting with support about improving an already good Hifiberry Pro+. I prefer the sound signature of the Hifiberry DAC2 HD to that of the Modi3 and Sanscit MK2.The Modi3 and Sancrit have more mass/weight/heaviness in their presentation, but i find it not great on my setup. I want lively/high detail with airy presentation, this is what the Hifiberry DAC2 HD provides on my system. It must be noted that I power the rasberry Pi4 with a linear power supply . Review: Won’t work with Ropiee. - Doesn’t work with Ropiee (volume control glitch, well documented on various groups). Works with Hifiberry but Hifiberry does not support USB hifi dongles.
