Review: Appears to be a complete, authentic set - After reading numerous reviews by other customers stating that they had received knockoff copies of the game with shoddy craftsmanship and missing components, the first thing I did was count out my pieces to make sure everything added up correctly and that the quality was good. Thankfully it appears that I did receive an authentic set, as I have the correct numbers of pieces that the manual states I should have, and the workmanship on everything seems relatively on par (one or two of my houses look a little lopsided but I don't care). My copy of the game was sold and shipped by desertcart specifically, so circumventing a third-party seller is likely what ensured I got what I wanted. I'm excited to play! (For what it's worth, at the time of this review, I'm seeing that it's actually a few dollars cheaper to buy the original base game and 5-6 player expansion separately if others are keen on getting the best deal possible. I've never played with the 'Helpers' scenario so I have no idea if it's worth the premium).

**Q: I have 5 & 6 year old girls, do you think their age could handle this game? Could they play it without adult supervision? How much reading is there?**
A: They would be able to handle it themselves...once they understand the rules. Though this is the Junior version of the game, there are still a few rules. My 7 year old kind of makes things up he doesn't remember when I'm not playing, but he still has a good time with his friends that are around his same age. If you're willing to play it a few times to help them learn the rules, then this game would be enjoyable to them by themselves. There's not much reading once you know the rules. Just rolling the dice and moving your pieces depending on what you roll.

**Q: Will the extension work for the expansions as well? say i wanted to add more player to seafarers**
A: yeah if you don't get this 5-6 player expansion you won't have the main pieces to play the 5th and 6th players in seafarers. however if you just want to play four players, you can with seafarers expansion... there are also a 1-4 version of seafarers, and a 5-6 extension of seafers. so you need to buy 4 things to play seafers with 6 players. sorry if that doesn't make sense i think i did like the crappiest job of explaining..

**Q: My base Catan is the 3rd edition (off-white box, with red sides and the crest in the upper left).  Will this expansion work with the 3rd edition?**
A: The changes are all aesthetic. The card backs and tiles have different art work, so your board/pieces will look mismatched and the cards will look different. But they can be used together.

**Q: Is there an easy way to tell which pieces belong to which set (for ease of separating the two afterwards, if I want to go back to 3-4 people again)?**
A: An easy way my family has always done it is, after opening the expansion pack (or determining what is part of the expansion pack if you have already opened it) is we put a small E on the back of the expansion pack pieces, and then keep them in a separate package as well.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great set for those who don't already own one!

Played Catan with my friends a few times and bought one for my home so they didn't have to carry it around. Went with the 25th Anniversary Edition since it was available, and no disappointments here! Nothing fancy, but comes with the expansion, helpers, card sleeves and card holder (very useful) in a nicely thought out container. Fun game with friends and family!
