Passing slower vehicles @ 80+ mph no issue. In fact we drove as tho there was no roof top box and we never had a concern regarding its integrity and/or connection to my vehicle. Minor amounts of seepage from salted highways was observed inside the box but cleaned easily with damp paper towel. I checked mpg twice and observed that I lost no more than 2 mpg with the carrier in place. On balance, for my purposes this Thule was a good investment and I'm happy w/ it. I also have a Thule Evo about 10 years old for another car and have been happy with it over the years. **Q: Instructions for Thule Sonic says to store it horizontally, but who has room in garage these days for that. Any issues with storing it upright?** A: I built a lift rack for mine out of 2" PVC pipe, a few eye-bolts, and a garage bike lift (rope/pulley system) to store/lift it in the horizontal position but out of the way. I think heating/cooling of the plastic material under flex will cause the shell material to deform over time if stored vertically. We went through some very heavy rains for a long period of time, and it never leaked a drop. There is no wind noise at all. In fact, you don't know it is up there unless you get a strong gust of wind from the side. I expected that I would see a decrease in gas mileage. That has not been the case. I used premium fuel on these trips, and I improved my gas mileage over the last time I did a trip without the cargo box using regular fuel.I have been using this cargo box on my Toyota Rav4. It fits, but I have to unscrew the radio antenna when I use it. It also is quite large. Given a "do over," I might order one size smaller. However, if I had the smaller size, I might wish I had this one β€” I just don't know. The poor dog was not happy. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Front end won't stay together *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2014* For me, this was a lot of money to spend and I would have hope for better results regarding the front end of the box.Despite making absolutely sure that I did not over pack the box in terms of weight or especially in terms of the height of items inside, the front tip of the top of the box kept wanting to separate enough from the bottom that had I driven through any rain, I would have surely accumulated a lot of water inside the box. I finally stopped at a hardware store and purchased a small roll of spongy, 1/2" foam with an adhesive backing (like what you would use to insulate around a house's door). I put one strip on the inside lip of the top of the box and one strip on the outside lip of the bottom of the box, which cause sufficient friction to keep the front of the box together at highway speeds. Unfortunately, everytime I need to open the box, I have to push everything back into place. I will probably have to replace it very soon and may use something a little thinner.Aside from this issue, the huge amount of storage space is great to have and I have received numerous compliments on its appearance. But, for all the money I spent, I should not have to be dealing with this issue.
