I wouldn't put a lens bigger than a 50mm prime on it. And even then I would only use it for a few shots. The perfect use for this is as a tripod mount to attach a small LED screen or other photography accessories. **Q: what is the difference between this item and the Pro version?** A: The ActionPod has 5 links and a 1" clamp while the ActionPod Pro has 7 links and a 2" clamp. The spring clamps have been designed and built by our founder - a working cinematographer - to be very robust and strong professional grade gear for use in the field. We want to be sure your equipment stays secure, and when a brand new clamp is first used, they will be quite stiff. A fair few of our customers will need to use two hands to open and close the clamp when first using the mounts, and while we build the clamp so they don't ever get truly loose (I've had my ActionPod for nearly a decade now and it still has great grip) you will find it becomes a little easier after it has been opened and closed multiple times. Easy to maneuver into shape. Did exactly what I needed it to do and for a very reasonable price. I got the idea to use it for my H4N Zoom from an episode of Film Riot. Worked like a charm. My boom/sound guy could easily monitor the recording levels while positioning the mic. Highly recommended for this use.
