I also have a tape deck which I use on it. They work fine just have to turn volume up a bit when playing records. Kind regards, Philips Audio Consumer Care ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The league for its own *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 April 2023* This Philips M8905/10 is a brilliantmicro system in this price category.For £229 is the same price as the no-name brands with the similar parameters.Obviously, there are much betterWi-Fi micro systems on the market.But, their prices are £490 and up,so it's quite unfair to compare twice cheapermicro system to the significantlyhigher price range.The sound is good enough for the most people,it can be improved by better speaker cables,if you are willing to spend more money.2× 50W is enough for the standard-sized room.I'm listening to Classical music,Rock, Pop, Metal, Jazz, Blues and Opera.For the hard-core music fans is better to go higher,or to buy an excellent speaker cables.For me it's perfectly acceptable for this price.It would be better,if they would make a better equaliser,or, if there would be a chance to makethe custom one.The only negative things are speaker connectors,because in this price category is better to make a sprung speakers, but it's not a big tragedy.Display is rather smaller than it should have been,but with a good visibility.The second (and the last) negative thingis the audio in on the front.I'm using a turntable connected to this systemand it doesn't look esthetically great,but I can live with it.It's not a specific PHONO,so bear in mind,if you are thinking of a turntable.The sensitivity of DAB+ is great,but the FM is significantly worse.Just almost nobody is listening to the ancient FM anymore, so it's not a problem at all.Spotify Connect is working well,the same CD player, and Bluetooth.Also no problems with the turntableconnected through the front AUX IN.The remote control is intuitive to use,and it's working from the various anglesand directions.If you are an audiophile,is not for you.If you can spend twice more moneyfor the higher level, just do it.If you want to buy a decent,cheap micro system by a well-known brand,look no further.This is the perfect balance betweenthe features and money.I'm happy with this system. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bass is great *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 18 April 2026* It's an impressive little music system and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. 5 great bass presets that You will enjoy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pros and cons *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 7 April 2026* (UPDATE AFTER 1 WEEK: I now leave BB router on 24/7 BUT power off hi-fi nightly and reconnection to internet radio showing correct logos, station and track info etc next morning goes smoothly) *I like to power off broadband and all gadgets at night which on previous dab+hifi wasn't an issue for re connecting but with this internet hifi I'm having to leave hifi on standby 24/7 and the same with router because the disconnection of station logo and information was always missing next turn on! it was driving me potty but I just decided to leave both plugged in overnight, it seems to be the frontier software that causes this I think? I have installed the undok app on phone and it's much quicker to store favourites on dab, internet, podcasts etc , if any gremlins on the app just power off and back on the hi-fi and it reconnects. I wish the unit colour was more silver than the dark gunmetal grey and the speakers were pale wood but hey I'm fussy!, great sound I wish the volume had middle increments because 3 to 4 etc needs a .5 increase in can be too low or too loud but if you don't have thin walls with neighbours it won't be a problem. The speaker cables are not long enough if you place speakers more than 4ft away a bit stingy Philips! Basic guide sheet but online is more detailed, 5 preset equaliser, I prefer Powerful mode. USB playback is annoying as it doesn't remember last played position upon stopping it returns to file 1 track 1. (playing track can be paused) CD playback seems ok, Not tried Bluetooth. The supplied hanging wire aerial picked up approx 180 dab+ stations which impressed me to be fair.
