What med gear are you carrying and how's it working out?** A: I know it can be used as a med kit, there's even a red and black version out there, usually on ebay for that, but it's not why I got mine. Mine's a light EDC option, keys, hand sanitizer, spare face covers, a notebook and pens, a collapsible straw, and a headlamp, a small flashlight, extra batteries for the lights, five small pill tins on a piece of parcord, and some food bars, with some room to spare. It can even be attached to my EDC/GHB, which is a Condor 3 Day Assault Pack and secured via Condor Mod Straps and 5.11 Rush Tier Straps. **Q: Is there a waist strap in addition to the shoulder strap? If there is not, is there a way to rig one on?** A: the shoulder strap doesnt work very well as a waist strap, however the molle straps on the back can be used to run a belt through, the onlt problem is the straps are a bit looose and even with a 2" belt there is a bit of play, I have sewn the extra strap material at the top to take the slop out and it works much better. In researching it I found the Condor deployment bag for less than one-third the price of the Proteus, slightly bigger than the Proteus, and also came with molle attachment and had a carry strap. The black version, which I bought, was about $19 and the colors were around $23 compared to the Proteus which costed around $65. My plan was to attach it to my 511 backpack. While the measurements were provided on the website I wasn't quite sure how it would look or fit for my needs. As promised, Amazon delivered in 2 days and when I opened it my first reaction was to return it right away because it looked small. However, when I tried to put my camera and the accessories it fit very well. It also attached to my backpack very well. The Condor Deployment Bag came with 2 molle attachment, but I use an extra attachment in the middle for a firm fit. The camera (Canon T1i), with 300mm lens, an extra lens (in one of the side pocket), charger, filter, manual (in the front pocket) fit very well. I could store 2 cell phones in the other pocket. The molle lined up perfectly to my 511 tactical backpack. Perfect size and fit well. Extremely pleased with the purchase. This is my first Condor product. I do own various Maxpedition products but didn't want to pay a lot of money for this one when I could use a comparitive product for less than one-third the price. I would have given this bag 5 stars if it had: 2 zipper pulls instead of 1 and if the opening on top was slightly bigger. I have to place my camera in an angle and have to be careful when taking it out because of the opening of the bag.
