The fish tape is made from high strength carbon steel, the end is hooked making it easy to attach a cable to it for pulling. What I find is a good feature is that on top of the fish tape is a measurement marking that shows how much of the steel is still remaining when pushed into a conduit. This measurement is laser etched on top of the tape every one foot in length. This particular tool has a working length of 240 feet which is a considerable length, you may never need this amount of tape but I always feel it's best to have more in reserve than none at all. At first glance this may look a little plasticky, but on closer observation it's clear that this is a sturdy tool that's designed more for professionals use.
