Who knows... but it works - I paid about 50% more for the Tecumseh logo on this part. If you really need that generator to start, you don't want to screw around with something jury rigged to work. The good news- it does bolt right on to my 20 year old generator. Maybe the design changed in the last two decades as this part has holes for 6 bolts as opposed to my 4 holes but it does snug right up and sure enough, a couple of tugs on the cord and I was back in business. As I say, I'd have been happier to see the factory logo on it but it wasn't there. Oh well, it's on and working so at the end of the day, I'm satisfied.
