Kelly Waterson (Jay’s GF) told Detective Leilani “Lei” Texeira (Kaua`I PD, #2367) she wanted to file a MP case on Jay Bennett (27).The 2 of them were from Clovis, CA.He was supposed to have been camping at a park called Pine Trees (Hanalei).Jay’s stuff was in a trash container.Detective Jack Jenkins (Lei’s partner, Kaua`I PD) had just arrived.1st stop Pine Trees, then Paradise Realty office (Kilauea).Ms. Lehua Wolcott met with Detective Texeira.In 2005, Kassie Feldman, Peter Krakouwer, Neil Powers, Grey Smith, John Samson, Tracy Enders, Brize Calloway, Susan Herzog, & Hal Bloom were missing also.Waikapala`e Cave. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a large set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great crime mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. To be continued. When a tourist asks Lei to find her missing husband, this leads to discovery of ten other tourists who have gone missing over the years. Lei suspects that a cult group may have kidnapped all these people for use in ritual killings. Body parts and bones turn up that match with some of the missing. When the FBI comes onboard, Lei's boss takes her off the case, but she persists, and eventually finds the serial murderer.I liked this book, but I have the same criticisms of this second book as I did of the first one in the series: 1) sometimes the Hawaiian "pidgin" English is a little hard to understand; 2) I often found it hard to determine who was speaking during the long dialog sections due to the author's style of mentioning the non-speaking person in a dialog paragraph. This book may appeal more to female readers, as it had even more romantic content than the first book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ How does crime always find this girl? *by M***S on April 27, 2019* Once again, I finished this book in record time. I have never visited the 50th state, but these books make me want to. Lei is on a different island, but crime still manages to find her. Her former fiance Stevens manages to get himself into the story too. The previous criticism about assigning speakers to the long dialogs is certainly valid in my case, and I had to re-read several sections to make sure of who was talking. Once again, I found myself riveted by the characters and the story. Lei seems to grow and mature with every page.
