Which do you recommend to go along with this airbrush? I'm very new to this all!** A: Yes, you need to buy a air compressor separately. I purchased a generic brand air compressor that has a tank on bottom that had excellent ratings from many people. I read that, if you get one without a tank... You have a high chance of the air compressor over heating and shutting off until it cools down because it's constantly on pumping air. Over time it'll get too hot and over heat. It all depends on what your needs are for airbrushing. I suggest one with a tank so you don't run into that issue. All you need after purchasing the air compressor and airbrush gun is the hose that connects the airbrush gun to the air compressor. Some air compressors don't say what the thread size is. Make sure to do research on the thread of the air hose because not all air hose are made the same. Some you'll need an adapter. **Q: Would you say this brush is good for an "all-around" paint job or more for detailing? Ex: Gundam Models** A: Any airbrush can do that including this one. The first thing I did was replace the Air Compressor with a high quality one with as tank that was adjustable. It sprayed fair with the SPRAY. I replaced this Air Brush with the Iwata Eclispe HP CS.. What a great difference. I was struggling to get a good spray pattern with a wide base. This Air Brush painted a surface in about 15 Minutes that it took me an hour with the SPRAYMAJIC.
