Great Read. *by A***E on Reviewed in the United States on February 28, 2017* I received Getting Stitches in the mail yesterday and by the time I had read the third poem I realized I was both being taken back in time to places in my life I hadn't revisited since I was in high school and being brought to new places I had never been before, by the words of his poetry. Rudy Francisco poems in this collection to me are a mixture of longing, satisfaction, happiness, fear and hope . Like climbing up a hill there is ups and downs but you never quit moving and you never regret making it to the top. My favorite poems are the ones I feel I was taken to new places, which were titled "Like Every Other Man" and "My Honest Poem" those I have already reread more than twice. I would definitely recommend Getting Stitches to anyone who loves poetry or is thinking of beginning to read poetry because it is easily understood and honest in the delivery, you not only read it, you feel it happening as you read it. So basically I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading in general. I believe with my whole heart you won't be disappointed from the first page to the last page. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Difficult to read. *by T***A on Reviewed in the United States on January 3, 2021* I LOVE Rudy and tend to get all of his books. There is one poem about making mistakes that has a type-o. That made sense and felt like an artistic choice. But there are so many misspelled words and things that feel like an editor should have caught them that it distracted from the content. I would not have considered myself a lover of poetry, but Rudy is an exceptional artist of the spoken word. Ordered all of his published works. They're booklets though & not books. However while it may seem a little high in price for booklets, & would say we will definitely be hearing more from this dude in the future & these booklets may be worth much more than they cost now.
