You can really tell the difference in burn resistance compared to flimsier mitts I’ve used in the past.They’re also flexible enough to grip small items like ramekins without feeling like you’re wearing clunky boxing gloves. Unlike most gloves, which are flat with the thumb at the side, these have the thumb section squarely in front of the hand part. I managed to completely destroy one of the original pair by leaving it lying on one of my stove elements while it was on! They may be heat proof, but they're not burn proof... The outer covering was completely destroyed, leaving the internal padding hanging loose. I decided to buy a new pair, and as these are the best I've ever owned, there was no hesitation in a repurchase.Reading through the other reviews, I see a few people found them too big or too small, but for me their fit is perfect. I think I have average size hands,and these slip on easily without feeling loose. They may be bulky, but for oven mitts that's not a defect in my book!
