Review: Good for scale model wires - Finally a true, flush cutting, snip for soft wire. I build scale models and needed a flush cutter for soft wire and tubing. I've tried many cheap ones that didn't work. These KNIPEX are modestly priced around $30 and are worth every penny. The photos show .8mm brass tubing, which is the largest I will cut with these. One picture shows a cut using the KNIPEX, the other using a cheaper brand. The cut was flush and had minimal pinching of the tube--the hole was still open using the KNIPEX. Using my other set (orange handle in picture), the cut wasn't flush and the hole was almost pinched shut. For the small copper wires I use (the largest is 22 gage) these are excellent.
