## Description

I.M.S. produces a range of competition filters designed to bring out the best in your coffee. The SHAPE and PERFORATION have been designed to ensure ideal coffee extraction. Description: Average capacity 18/22 gram. B70 2TC H28.5 E Shape: Border: Ø 70 mm (B70). Height: 28.5 mm (H28.5). Inside diameter: Ø 60 mm for Ø 58 -58.5 mm tamper. Ridgeless. Shape: Cylindrical with convex bottom. The shape was created by I.M.S. to obtain the proper ratio between the base and height of the coffee puck in relation to capacity. The filter is cylindrical with a specific corner rounding at the base. This shape has been designed to exploit the whole coffee puck. Polishing facilitates drying and expulsion. Perforation: I.M.S. perforation is exclusive and patented. Perforated Area: Ø 49 mm. Number of Holes: 715 Micro spacing (E). The number and distribution of the perforations are designed to balance the water delivery in relation to the height and shape of the filter and perforated area. Hole Diameter: 0.30 mm. Shape of the Hole: Circular with Conical cross section. Compatibility: Fits some, but not all models of: E-61, Faema, La Marzocco, Synesso, Slayer, Nuova Simonelli Victoria Arduino, Rancilio. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: How is this basket vs the nanotech version?**
A: Looking at the specs between the two, it seems like the differences are the number of holes, the non-stick NanoQuartz coating, the shape of the bottom.
I doubt the coating will make any noticeable difference as far as extraction is concerned. I don't have issues with grinds sticking to this basket after pull a shot. I usually leave the portafilter in place while I prep for the next shot or steam milk and empty it after.
The slightly smaller holes in the Nanotech version may require an adjustment to the grind size if you are currently using this basket. You're likely going to have to make an adjustment to your grind size if you change from the stock basket to any of the IMS baskets anyway.
The extra .5mm depth at the bottom of this basket could give a little more clearance between the coffee and the shower screen if the grinds touching the shower screen is an issue. I would reduce my dosing, but getting a larger basket is also an option.
Overall, I doubt the Nanotech version will provide a noticeable difference over this one. One note about this basket is that i found 18 gram dose to be too little for this basket. Get the "up to 18 gram" double basket if that is the dose you prefer. I get better results with 20 gram doses with this basket.

**Q: Does this come with a replacement (heavier) basket retaining spring?**
A: No. It doesn't bring the basket retaining spring.

**Q: What is the exact internal dimension "58.4, 58.5, etc." ?**
A: 58.52

**Q: Does it fit Gaggia classic pro?**
A: It fits my Gaggia Classic Pro and my bottomless portafilter.
