I thought it was, which was part of my purchase decision, but was unable to open anything with it. The hook just popped off the bead. Others here claim to have opened cans. It could probably be sharpened to work, but then just might fail TSA inspections. **Q: Where is the slot to hold a hex bit?** A: The review by "just a regular dude" has a photo showing the 1/4" keyting slot used for a hex bit. Turns out it also works as an oxygen valve key. **Q: How are you supposed to strip wire with this tool?** A: I have used the pry bar end of the tool to strip wire. Not all sizes of wire, but some.
