My wife can only move a few small steps, using a walker while I'm hanging on to steady her. She usually just does a 45 degree pivot to move from a furniture chair or bed to a transit chair, and this helps her to make that pivot. The problem I encounter is that I'm usually beside her (helping her sit) or behind her. This only works safely if the caregiver can be in front of the patient.
