If you have the 36" version, can you confirm?** A: From the floor to the center of the table is 34.5 inches (Leg in center point on each end) By using the easy to turn bolts on each end lets you turn the table down in front or in back. What I love that I can have a watercolor going in the flat position. And tilt the other side after the water color is dye to work on an acrylic or charcoal. Lots of space and tilting both sides makes this a dream table for me. Hope this helps **Q: Is this sturdy enough for a sewing machine? Can it handle the weight? My daughter wants to use this for both drafting and sewing.** A: It would hold the weight of a sewing machine BUT I do not believe it would hold up to the rigors of sewing. Dragging fabric that would cause a pushing and pulling effect would not be good. The table is top heavy already and has minimal leg contacts to the feet. It would all come down to how much sewing and how often. **Q: Is it possible to use a parallel bar (like Mayline) on this table?** A: the sides of this table are approximately 3/4 i nches deeo and are free on both sides off any impediments underneath that would obstruct this device that I can see. The legs and other mounting hardware are recessed a good iinch and a half or more. the only obstruction is the pencil tray at the bottom that does not transverse the entire bottom.
