I bought it to be able to charge an old iphone from a VW Jetta USB port that was not compatible with the phone and it works fine for that. As far as I can see, it basically passes through the 5v connections and has no data connections so there would be no way a virus could be passed through it or data could be "sucked" out. Of course it also means you can't download photos or sync your phone or anything like that - all it does is let you charge. So, basically, it turns a computer USB port into a non-smart charger. That also means it charges slowly at 0.5A whatever the port or charger rating, because higher charge rates are negotiated between charger and phone, which requires data. **Q: Does this work with iPhone 8 and 11?** A: Yes. Une clef basique mais qui est censé éviter les passages d'information. Je pense en acheter une autre, pour le moment je peux dire que pour la recharge de mon iPad elle fonctionne très bien. Par contre elle ne fonctionne pas pour une clef USB qui est utiliée sur plusieurs ordinateurs ce que je trouve dommage.
