You tie the end of each one then cut & retie so it's like one long tube of bags.The refill cartridge has 14-feet of plastic, my wife says she gets about 12-bags each. She also said they are large and hold a lot of waste, and she "loves it!" Much less hassle, no odor, and easy to use. I price checked them at Petsmart and they were the same price as amazon has.
