It would have taken about 1 hour less time if my wife wasn’t distracting me. It took another hour of test driving, fine tuning, and re-adjusting the location of where to fasten one of the long arms. If you follow the initial guidance by the instructions, your claw will never be able to reach low enough to touch the surface. I’ve marked the spot where you should reposition one of the longer parts. This new position will allow your claw to touch the surface. Not sure how it will affect its strength and leverage though. My 8 year old and I loved the experience of building this robot. The instructions are easy to follow (pictures only), you just need to pay attention to detail as far as how each piece is oriented. Battery life has been good - at least 20 minutes of play between charges and it hasn't completely died on us yet - just became more sluggish. The gripper claw has been able to pick up quite a few different items. It's not industrial strength but it's fine for a kid's toy.
