Review: 紙面にある英文はすべて音読する。日本人向けのドリルより、自然な英文がたくさん。文法的には英検3級レベルです。自然な英文に慣れるにはとてもいいです。 接頭辞、接尾辞、類義語、対義語、前後の文脈から知らない単語の意味を推測する、などを学んで、語彙を増やしていけます。 日本の中学では、習う単語数が少なすぎると思います。一文一文をきっちり分析し、日本語に訳し教えるので増やせないような気がします。 このドリルでは、細かすぎる文法はちょっと置いといて、150語位の短い文章をどんどん読んでいって、英語のリズムに慣れ、語彙を増やしていく事が出来ます。少しレベルの高い単語が出てくると、簡単な英語での説明があり、単語と説明を結びつける設問が用意されています。 短い文章の中にでてくる、知らない単語の意味を、接頭辞や接尾辞の知識を動員し、文脈からも推測し、語彙を増やしていく。また、音節に分解してある単語のパーツを並べ替えて正しい単語にするページもあります（意味のある文の中で、１つだけ単語が空白になっていて、音節分解されているのです）。 我が子は英語圏への旅行経験もなく、外での英語活動は公立小学校の授業だけです。英語を喋れない母親と、地道に家で取り組んでいます。このワークはwritingのgrade3と共に5回繰り返す予定です。小5の3月から開始（1年かけて2冊する）予定。grade2と違い、イラストが減り、最初2割だけがフルカラー、残り8割は2色刷りになります。
