This replacement ignition switch is a direct replacement for a damaged or worn-out original equipment switch Made of quality materials for durability, this part has been tested to ensure a proper fit.

Review: Fixed intermittent starter condition and 4WD / Anti-Lock Brake error lights / check engine light - I have a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban and I was getting intermittent dashboard error indications for the four-wheel drive and anti-lock brakes. Then the truck would sometimes not step through the gears when going forward (it would stay in 3rd gear). I changed the engine oil, transmission oil, front differential, transfer case and rear differential oil but the problem remained. Then recently there were a couple of occasions when the starter would not engage when the ignition key was turned to the start position. I looked through the reviews for this ignition switch and saw there were a couple of other people who were experiencing the same types of problems with respect to the four-wheel drive and anti-lock brake error lights so I decided to purchase a new ignition switch. I installed the switch (making sure the gear alignment matched the original switch) and the four-wheel drive and antilock brake error lights are now off and the car is stepping smoothly through the forward gears as I accelerate. About a day later the check engine light went out and the car is now running perfectly.

**Q: Can someone please tell me why do I have to keep replacing this switch every 10 to 12 months ? Is this a quality issue of the part or something else ?**
A: Something in these Trailblazers likes to keep frying them. I've replaced multiple other electrical parts but keep swapping out a Switch every 6-8 months. Electrical Nightmare of a vehicle.

A: If you mean your steering wheel will not lock when your ignition is off then no this will not solve that problem

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy fix for my ABS light and AC blower which quit simultaneously

I had my ABS and brake light come on and at the same time my AC blower would not work on any speed. An AI engine suggested that the most likely cause was the ignition switch. I replaced the switch with this switch, and it fixed both problems. In my 2006 Silverado I found that I only needed to remove the bottom cover of the steering wheel to replace this part. I carefully slid the small wire harness around the small tab on the side of the switch so that I could pull the switch down. Before I pulled the switch down, I then used a small screwdriver to release to wire connecting this switch to the harness. Then I removed the old switch and marked the position of the teeth. Then I set the teeth on the new switch to the same position. Install was pretty simple; I just took my time and did not force anything. It fit my truck perfectly. I hope it lasts a long time. One other thing the AI engine mentioned was that a bad ignition switch could also cause intermittent parasitic drains which could run the battery down. I had this problem very intermittently, hopefully, that will be fixed also. I took apart the old switch and found it had a burned contact (attached pictures of old switch).
