The crimping part takes a lot of force. 4 hands are better than 2 when working with 1" pipe. If you're in a tight space working with 1", good luck, but it can done. 1/2" and 3/4" aren't bad and require less force as the pipe gets smaller. If I were an everyday plumber, I would purchase a high quality tool, but for home install this set is perfect, sturdy, and functional, low cost. Also, the crimp band cutter works well.
