I was able to mount mine on a 4 x 4(Wood) without any problems with the included equipment. I am sure the metal 4" pole is recommended, but a 4 x 4 will work depending on your application, at least it did for me **Q: Is the Mount adjustable...that is can you adjust it so that 21" X 46" Solar panel can be mounted vertically?** A: Mount is designed to accomodate panel in horizontal position only. Max panel width (or height in the case of vertical mount) is around 26.5 inches. There is no adjustment in the other direction. **Q: How are you powering you laptop? What inverter? Thanks Doug** A: You will need a 12volts battery bank and 12volts inverter that converts the DC to AC 110Volts. You can check our store for the inverter options. If you are only running the laptop using the system, you will only need a 200W inverter. **Q: i just ordered two 110 w renogy panels and was looking for a mounting system. i like this one but can it hold two 100 w panels ? is it adaptable for** A: No.you will need 2 mounts.
