Review: Gonex vs Traditional Backpack - I just returned from my 2nd two week trip with this backpack. I came online to order another one in a different size bcs I love this one so much and was shocked to see it was labeled “frequently returned item!” That spurred me to write a review! I do not think this backpack would substitute for someone looking for a traditional backpack. But it was PERFECT for my needs. It is extremely lightweight. It holds sooo much! It held a large purse, 2 tablets, 2 water bottles, snacks, and a large foam roller for my back. (I use it as my personal item when flying.) It has front pockets for easy access to passports, phone, etc. It folds down to nothing if u want to throw it in ur suitcase. I have carried it all day and it served its purpose but it is not ideal bcs the shoulder straps r thinly padded. I can’t do a regular backpack bcs they r too heavy and hurt my neck. This caused me no neck problems wearing it all day. Just shoulder discomfort. Despite overstuffing mine multiple times the material and zippers have held up perfectly. I’ve already ordered another one in a different size so I’ll have more options!
Review: Gonex 20lt soft back pack - Love my new back pack. Super light, easy to fold up into its own pocket when not needed. Good quality reasonably priced. Good value

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Looking for a pack for hiking, mountain biking, and rock climbing mainly. Worries: Durability, no chest strap. Have these been a problem for anyone?**
A: For rock climbing you will want a chest strap, so you are sure the straps stay where they should. Hiking - if you are carrying a sandwich and fleece jacket it should be fine, but I personally wouldn't go on a hike without padded straps and a chest strap...I carry a great deal more.

**Q: I'm 6ft tall and plus size do you think the straps will fit me comfortably or will they be too small?**
A: The straps have adjustable length. I'm plus size and the backpack is comfortable. I was surprised at how much it held. All the necessities for a day hike including a light-weight jacket. Know that the material is thin, like parachute fabric, but strong. I'm happy with the purchase. Love the pink, purple, and blue colors. I also love that it all folds up into the inside pocket. Folded up it's about the size of 2 slices of bread.

**Q: Isn't this exactly the same item also sold under the name Hikpro here: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KX0B5HO ?**
A: I don't believe this is the same item. First, the Hikpro is reinforced in 14 areas PLUS has a reinforced bottom. Second, the Hikpro has over 3000 reviews with a full five star rating, while the Gonex only has 4.5 stars. I purchased this one because of the deal but already wish I had purchased the Hikpro and am thinking of canceling before it arrives and buying Hikpro. So no, they are not the same product.

**Q: Is its water proof reliable? I will be crossing borders and I dont want my documents to get wet**
A: It's not water proof. The material is thin and they are zips on it as well. I walked though a slight rain and my items in the bag got wet. I prefer that if you are going to travel it's best to put your documents and electronics in a waterproff bag or zip lock bag for precautions.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pleasantly surprised
*by B***R on 2 July 2015*

I wasted way too much time reading reviews of this and similar bags on here. I ended up going with this one, which looked practically identical to another bag with more reviews that cost a few dollars more. I have to say, so far I'm happy with my purchase. A few things that I wondered about that you might possibly care about: (1) Size when packed -- this is small, but it isn't going to fit in your pocket. A few bags sold on here will fit in your pocket, but given the quality and comfort of this bag, it's really small. It's a great bag to take with you on a vacation or elsewhere inside of another bag (2) Size when unpacked -- this isn't a full size, huge backpack, but it is totally fine for your likely uses. I'm tall, and this fits fine, both in how it feels and how it looks. I wouldn't be likely to use it as an everyday bag, but it isn't a tiny little kids bag by any means in my opinion. I took it on a hike and it fit two water bottles (in the side pouches), a few layers of clothing, a small amount of camera equipment, wallet, etc. without being anywhere near full. (3) Very light, little structure of its own. Wasn't an issue for me, but you notice it when you put a water bottle in just one side. (4) The pocket that it folds into turns into an interior pouch that is perfect for your wallet, phone, etc. (5) Pretty easy to stuff back into itself I don't know how well it will hold up long term, but so far, so good
