## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does the ethernet connection still carry power? I want to power a PoE device and a tablet.**
A: No, it's called a splitter because the power goes to the micro USB cable and the filtered Ethernet signal goes to the male Ethernet connector. It's a sort of step-down converter which converts the 48V PoE to a 5V power that a micro USB device - like your tablet - needs and thus no longer support further PoE. In your case, you will need a PoE switch, 2 Ethernet cables and a splitter to make those two devices Power over Ethernet.

**Q: Will this work for an Android tablet because I see that extra ethernet cord on it.**
A: Our POE spliter works for most of the Android phone and tablet as long as your device doesn't require special charging protocol. The extra ethernet is only for data link if you need, or else you can left it unconnected, just using the micro-usb cord for charging purpose.

**Q: Is this 5v or 12v? Descriptions say 5 and the product selection says 12v.**
A: Sorry for the confusion, the output of the POE module is standard MicroUSB connector which is only 5V. The input to the POE module is 12V~48V from the POE switch port.

**Q: what ethernet chipset does this use?**
A: It doesn’t use any. Ethernet is passthrough. The purpose of this device is to power something that needs micro usb using a power over Ethernet switch.
