One for my work laptop, which I frequently travel with and one each for my Chromebook (CR-48) and my wife's. The mice work great in both applications and never have problems even when all three laptops are near each other. For users of Chromebooks, some do not like the new trackpad features (my wife for example) so the mouse is a must. I am fine with the Chromebook pad, but I like the speed that a mouse gives you when copying and pasting large sections of text or just scrolling through large documents. The M505 is also one of the smallest form factor mice that still manages to still feel very comfortable and substantial in my hand - and I have large male hands. My wife has small female hands and it fits her hands perfectly, so the balance of device is ideal. The small form factor makes it perfect for throwing in my computer bag and using on my leg while on an airplane. The crappy mini-mice are just junk, IMO. Red is the best color. I have two red ones and one silver. I would have all red, but I needed to keep track of which one was which with the two Chromebooks that usually sit side-by-side. Battery life seems unbelievable. I'm still on the factory batteries with my first mouse at over one year of use. I would be happy with six months, they say two years, I'm past year one with heavy use so I'm quite satisfied at this point. I use a Logitech keyboard with my laptop and wanted to purchase a mouse that would use the same (read: Unifying) receiver. This mouse fits the bill!! The secondary reason for purchasing this mouse was the allow my children to use the laptop without using the trackpad. The kids are 3 and 5 and this mouse is a perfect compromise. I think it's very comfortable and they use it without problem. The scrolling is smooth and the mouse seems to work on most surfaces, although I'm "old school" and still like the feel of a mousepad. Overall, this is a great mouse, whether you need the unifying receiver or not.
