I am an only parent and my son gets very upset when other kids throw in his face that he “doesn’t have a dad.” He didn’t even want to read the book when he saw it said families. But once we started reading, and he saw a picture showing just One parent and a child, he smiled big, pointed and said, “they have a picture that’s the family I have!” Fabulous to reassure children and show them they are Not different in a bad way, it’s not a bad thing. And so good to educate other children that different isn’t bad! It’s a very simple book, could have a little more to it but I am very happy it exists.
