Kids like pirates and this book helps raise children's play to a higher level of interaction and thinking.  I love "the anchor" thoughts- my grandchild and I use it when emotions are stirring too much and we need "anchor thoughts" to help calm down and make better choices.

I got this book with high hopes because of all the great reviews.  It is really disappointing.  My kids, ages 6 and 8, were really bored and they are usually not bored with books!  The story is just really long and wordy.  Doesn't hold their attention.  I would not recommend it!

This book should be included in every childs library. We read this to our daughter quite often as she enjoyed it so much. We plan on doing the same with our son when he is old enough.
