Not any louder than any other extractor hood I've heard. It's made a massive difference to my kitchen. Before grease was dripping off the walls. Trap underneath already looks greasy,will need to clean soon. Light is good. Placement was hard to get right in the centre of the cooker top. Looks great and works really well. Highly recommend.
