So far this stuff has been a nice replacement. It's been about a year and I still haven't had to apply more. I did my research and this brand was 2nd on the list of recommended brands. I chose this one as it seemed more like a paste and less like a liquid that would be messy. It was easy to apply and not at all messy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Yeah, you do have to replace your OEM thermal compound from time to time. *by T***M on Reviewed in the United States on July 4, 2022* I purchased a mass produced desktop gaming system back in 2017. in early 2022 I noticed the cooling fan began to throttle nearly every time I was running the system. After installing GPU-Z, I spotted my CPU was getting really hot. After inspecting the CPU cooler, I noticed it had worked loose. Replacing the thermal compound (and adding a couple more case fans) did the trick. This tube has plenty of compound in it. You could use it 3 times before running out. It was easy to work with too. The seller did a good job too. This stuff was sealed and couldn't be crushed by ordinary handling. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars Stable temps worse than stock and MX-5 bonds like glue *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on April 7, 2022* I tried this product on both GPUs and CPUs as it seemed to have pretty good reviews. I ordered it direct from Arctic in hopes that I wouldn't get a bad batch or fake product. My assumption for this review is that my batch was fine as it looked mixed and the right color. It was a bit messy to apply, but using a thermal paste spatula helped. The only positive that I have to say about this product is that the temperatures you get are pretty stable.I gave the systems 3 or more cycles of running and being off for 30 minutes at a time to make sure the temperatures I was getting were accurate. For both CPUs and GPUs, the temperatures were much more stable than the stock paste. With that being said, they were worse overall.For the CPUs, I saw a consistent 3-6 C higher temps than the stock paste. For the GPUs, it was much worse around 5-10 C higher temps than stock. Ultimately, I ended up switching this out with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and got consistent 3-5 C cooler temps than the stock paste (10+ C cooler than MX-5).The last part I want to mention is that the removal was a giant pain. This stuff adheres like glue and it ripped one of the CPUs out of the socket. Luckily, I'd read other reviews mentioning this so I was prepared and had it both warmed and very carefully removed the heatsink. None of my gear was damaged, but I could see how this could easily happen. Buyer beware. The other negative factor on removal is that this stuff is pretty hard to remove. It took quite a lot of alcohol to clean it all up, but eventually I got it all removed.I don't see any reason you'd want to buy this product unless if you're just after long term stability and don't mind higher temps.
