I have those new tanks and I have retrofitted them with vents to allow pouring and old-style nozzles. Be careful as the flow is quite fast when transferring. **Q: Does it have a detonator?** A: A detonator?????!!!!!!. It is for transferring gas from the tank to a vehicle. The last thing this would have is a detonator. P.S. These things are defective. I ordered one and had to get replacement because the pump didn't work. The replacement didn't work either. Buy something else. On a positive note, the seller very quickly refunded my money. **Q: Does it fit on midwest 5 gal plastic cans?** A: Sometimes. **Q: I tested it with water but how does one get the water droplets out?** A: You have to run a small amount of fuel threw it to clean out the water.
