Comes in the sturdy case that is pictured, all instructions are on the inside of the lid. Came with a Duracell 9Volt battery, can't ask for more than that! The actual scales feel solid, extremely well built. The digital readout is plenty large and easy to read. Also has a built in kick stand to prop the display unit up at about a 45% angle on a flat surface. No backlighting of any kind, could be a problem for old eyes in a dimly lit shop, I'm not there yet, so I don't know.
