## Description

Adjustable, easy to assemble, easy to install floor jacks are designed for use during remodeling projects to reinforce stairs, porches, decks, or weak floors. Constructed of premium quality steel and coated to prevent corrosion. All moving parts fit snugly to avoid lateral displacement and the top and bottom plates are deeply embossed to mitigate movement and prevent dishing. The heavy duty high carbon steel is double locked for added safety. Compression strength is defined as testing to the point of failure. To determine safe or allowable load consult a licensed engineer. Product adjusts at the top; does not adjust at the middle. Two in a package

Review: For my purpose these jacks worked as I had hoped. Needed additional support (permanent) to fix a minor bouncy floor. Had around 18” clearance between ground and bottom of open beam floor joists. Used a 7”x7”x3.5” thick paver with a piece of 2x8 on top of paver as the bottom support. Set up the floor jack which wasn’t an issue as there was room to work. Placed 2ea 1/2” bolt fender washers in the top flange as one reviewer suggested. Tighten the jack with a 18” pipe wrench which made it very easy. I didn’t have any workmanship issues as other have mentioned. Had to back off the adjustment on the first one install due to lifting the floor too high. Will be ordering more to do another area of the floor

I intend to order a few more and put them below the floor where referigerator is installed. Very easy to setup. Instructions are included in package however not needed, as it is self explanatory once you take a look at the contents in the package.

**Q: How does one "jack them up?" Can I extend these until they touch the beams under my fifth wheel and then jack them up to hold my slid out up?**
A: Yes, you turn the collar on the top of the shaft-it is threaded-to raise or lower the top plate.

**Q: how far do these expand?**
A: On the akron website and on the c-4 adjustable floor jack box itself it says the range is lowest 12" to 15" highest. I see comments that say it has a 6" range but that would not be correct for this jack and if installed to that extension would probably not be safe. That said akron does sell a large variety of adjustable floor jacks with a range of extensions. I bought this one because I had a space of about 13" that needed to go up only slightly to level out the floor.

These floor jacks can carry a full 18,000 lb load as long as they are not extended past 15 inches high. You can get another 3" but they will not carry full weight. Might be ok for lifting a sagging floor, but you need the full capacity if there is a wall above your lifting point. The comments about the flimsy base plates are correct. At anything like full load, the plate into which the screw fits collapses until it touches the surface it is lifting. This can be easily stopped by placing 2 each 1/2 in. washers in the dimple so that they carry the weight instead of the plate. When the load compresses the plate, the washers hit first. If the washers dig into the beam a bit, then the load spreads out to the rest of the plate. Works fine, and requires no machining. The fact that the parts are not welded together does make it hard to assemble this jack in tight spaces. I found that I could hold things together with masking tape long enough to get everything in place. Once there is even a slight load, everything stays where it belongs just fine. Be sure to wipe off the screw and nut and make sure the threads run smoothly before you try to use this jack. There was dirt and metal filings on mine that tended to jam the screw. Be sure the tip of the screw which carries the load is clean and smooth. I had to remove some burrs and dirt to get a smooth bearing surface. After everything is clean and turning smoothly, grease the threads and the bearing surface. Otherwise it will be very hard to lift anything close to the rated load. So, a little more care at the factory, and a proper top plate, and this would be an excellent product. It could be further improved by providing a second set of flats for the wrench at 90 degrees to the first set. With only one set, in tight places, you have to use a small pipe wrench to turn the jack screw.
