They look like the pictures but, astonishingly, are much larger. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that. What really impressed me was that they work for other meals other than dinner. Why, just the other day I used a plate (which, amazingly, hold exactly a plateful of food. Talk about precision measurements by Sango) to place a sandwich on during lunch. The plate handled it well and didn't break, melt, or otherwise reject the food at the wrong mealtime. I have used the cups for breakfast coffee with no ill effects either. I have yet to try eating the wrong food at the wrong time for it so I can't attest to how well the dinnerware will hold up to that but I am working up the nerves to use the bowls for breakfast cereal as a late night snack and see how that goes. Maybe next week.
