The spring loaded hole on the top to fill without opening the cover works great and makes the kettle very accessible. Review: Heats Very Quickly - I bought this to use to make French Press Coffee. The Kettle works perfectly for this. It has a neat feature where you don't have to hold open the lid to fill it. Just shoot the water through the spring-loaded port in the lid to fill. This helps with ergonomics to not have to hold the kettle and hold the lid open with a thumb. Anyway, I like it. You can open the lid completely for cleaning. The base holds the kettle securely and it is easy to place the kettle onto the base without any miscuing or wobbling. The only thing I'd like to change is to have the kettle have a temperature display. When making French Press coffee you don't want boiling water so it would be nice to know the temp. I do a work around with an electric thermometer and that suffices. But, an integrated thermometer would make this a 5 star kettle. Would I buy another?
