**Q: Will this work millright’s mega v cnc machine?**
A: If you can attach it to your bed or spoilboard and have enough z clearance, then I don’t see why not.

**Q: what size are the bolts?**
A: I believe they are M5-10’s.

**Q: What grade of aluminum is this made of?**
A: It feels like pretty cheap cast aluminum. I will say that this is not very good as a machining vise and more like a drill press vise. I was overall not happy with the way this vise works and feels.

Single screws are almost impossible to find. This assortment has what you need which are M5 X 20 and M5 X 30. It doesn’t have the T nuts. Standard M5 T nuts will work.

I bought this to replace a smaller, a smaller steel vise (cheaper drill press style ones) I had been using. I needed larger workpiece holding with a low profile in my gantry CNC. So far, despite being designed for engraving, this vise has proven to hold larger items pretty well. I’ve not had any slippage issues while milling. It’s also very easy to square up the “fixed jaw” side and clamp the pieces in. My method is to bolt the bottom piece down, then loosen the fixed jaw and square that to the machine. It’s easier than moving an entire vise. The only negatives I’ve found are in relation to me not using it how it was intended; admittedly it still does a great job and I can’t fault the vise for the following short comings. That being said if you plan to use this for milling and not engraving there are a few things to watch. First is that setting the workpiece can be a little fiddly since the jaws are loose of the base when you tighten them onto the workpiece. Once I tighten the jaws to the base, I hit the work piece with a deadblow hammer and visually check that it’s “set” into the vise. Additionally, and for me, the largest problem I’ve had is the rear clamping bolt is eating into the soft aluminum jaw. This is most likely due to me needing to clamp harder than the design use of engraving. I believe this to be an easy fix however. When I get some extra time I plan to just mill out a pocket on the jaw and put in a steel insert for the bolt to push on. Another solution would be to use a steel shim between the bolt and clamp. All that being said, this vise has an awesome, simple and effective product design. I’d definitely buy one again or recommend it.
