Review: Very impressive! But the app to control it is hot garbage. - It's absolutely AMAZING; as a mop. As a vacuum, the tiny collection chamber fills up FAST, and I've been spoiled by my Roomba i7, so I really can't recommend this product for it's vacuuming abilities at all, when there are FAR better, and cheaper, options. It's quite quiet, but where it really shines (pun intended) is as a mop. I work outside, and tend to track in a lot of red Georgia clay, the bane to every glorified swiffer-style robotic "mop". I have a Braava m6, and I use it AFTER the Narwal, mainly because I feel like I wasted my money on the Braava now that I have the Narwal, and just want to give it some sort of purpose in life. It really does scrub and cleans better than any robotic mop I've ever owned, including the discontinued iRobot "Scooba". It gets edges very well, but of course can't quite manage corners, but it's a small price to pay for a robot that ACTUALLY mops, getting messes that other robots just smear across the floor, and all you have to do is change out the water tanks and occasionally clean out the little tray it uses to clean itself! It even hops thresholds that frighten my poor Braava too much to cross. I can't recommend this robot enough. The app, though... The app is garbage, and will sometimes lose connection with the robot for no reason, and no amount of router fiddling, Narwal resetting, or app reinstalling will solve it. Just set the phone down, try again in 12 hours, and it will be connected again. When it does work, it allows you to customize zones, which means I can tell it to clean everything normally, but give the area in front of the door an extra scrubbing to deal with any mud I might have tracked in. The saving grace though, is that you don't NEED the app, it's more of an added layer of convenience. You can get the robot working away just fine using the buttons on the home station, and a few well placed magnetic strips. That's the only other "ding" I have against the Narwal, is there is no "lighthouse" or invisible barrier device that you can use. The only way to create "no go zones" without the app, is having to lay magnetic strips across your floor. I personally don't even notice them, but it's still a pretty inelegant solution. I will note that for the past 2 weeks, the app has been functioning just fine, so my bad experience may have been a glitch in the app that has since been fixed. Overall, it's really not a great vacuum, but it's far and away a GREAT mop, and for that, I can't recommend this enough, despite my quibbles.
Review: Not ready for the standard robot cleaning expectations - After having the product less than a week, I can say with certainly unfortunately that this product is not worth the price point and overall not ready for the market and expectations of the robot cleaning market. It is essentially the cleaning equivalent of having a robot drag a wet rag on your floors or a light lazy pass with a Swiffer - with the added and only convenience being that it rinses itself so you don't have to fuss with that. There is some impressive mapping capabilities in the robot but unfortunately those capabilities can only really be accessed with the app which is embarrassingly bad. I don't even mind the clear translation/proofing errors but the app is completely unusable as other reviewers mentioned with it constantly being "Offline". You can reset the network a hundred times, move the unit right next to your modem, etc but you're still going to get hit with Offline due to the failures within the app itself an annoying amount of times. For a thousand dollar product, the app's constant failures rendering the device completely useless is unacceptable. I also choose not to use it in vacuum mode (unless required by mapping) because the dustbin is quite small and its suction is not super impressive. For comparison beside its vacuuming partner, the self cleaning Roomba, the Narwhal does move around furniture and map a room with a lot more accuracy and efficiency so I was really hopeful this would be a winner. Unfortunately, until the app can be made reliably functional, it seems to be nothing but a large investment in a product that still has a LONG way to go. Hopefully updates will continue to be made to the app so the device has more use in my home. For the time being, it's just keeping the hard working Roomba company. Update: After a month, I have had to downgrade from 2 stars to 1. Originally my thought was that when it works it's better than nothing and as such should be worthy of at least 2 stars, especially given the potential. However, for this price point it's completely unacceptable to have the entire robot's functionality crippled by such a weak app that can't even stay connected to the internet. I've spent more time in the last month trying to fix their connectivity issue to try to get this robot to work the way it's meant to than I spent mopping in the last year. I should've listened to the other reviews and saved the box so I could return it but now I just have to hope they'll invest in fixing this app because I'm sick of troubleshooting what should've been addressed before the product launched. All that being said, if this app can get sorted, the robot itself is pretty impressive and this may be a 4 or 5 star product. Should the app improve, I'll update my review accordingly.

**Q: has anyone else run into issues with it not running due to magnetic field?**
A: Dear Mike,

Thank you for approaching Narwal.
We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you.
The problem maybe caused when the robot maybe interferred by the local environment with strong magenetism; 
or when the robot exit from the base but the distance between the two is too close, the robot will sense the magenetic materials inside the base and prompts the error; 
or the robot has breakdown and needs our aftersale service.

For your situation, we provide you with the following solutions:
1. Recall the robot and make it exit for several times until it stops prompting the error, and be sure the distance between the robot and the base is far enough.
2. Try to keep the robot to stay away from your house equipment with strong magnetism if possible, and restart to work.
3. Remove the robot module, turn it off for 1 minute and then turn it on again to see if the abnormal magnetic field problem has been solved.

**Q: Suddenly lost connection today, all other devices are still connected to wifi. Tried to reset wifi configuration on narwal. Still "offline".**
A: Exact same issue as well. Purchased 2 days ago, no network issues at all, everything was great!
Today (July 27 2021), App shows robot offline, but app still receives push notifications, status, new mapping data from the robot, and my router even shows it's connected. It's as if the app can receive data from the robot, but cannot send any commands.

**Q: What does the red light on the base mean? i unboxed my narwal robot vacuum and it isn't working. it wont turn on and it isn't charging.**

Thanks for your message. Please be informed that Narwal T10 Robot Mop and Vacuum is not able to detect carpets while mopping by default. However, we recommend you could set the carpet areas as restricted zones via Narwal APP, the T10 Robot will automatically sense it and retreat back. Hope this answered your inquiry.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our coolest new robot! Love our Wall-E!

Note- the scanning function on the app to add the robot to the app does not appear to work and the product comes with a preface warning letting the consumer know the engineers are working on this. Ideal would be to just fix the issue versus continue to market it, but other than that initial frustration, we love our robot! Other side note, I could not get the app to allow the robot to connect to our wi-fi until my husband updated our router, so if you're having issues, try updating your router. If you didn't notice when buying, the robot will not connect to 5G so you may have to switch a setting on your router. We do have 5G and did not switch any settings, just updated our router and it worked for my husband's phone. Other than those 2 pieces, the robot functions awesomely! We have 2 dogs and 2 small children so our floors are constantly filled with hair or crumbs or both. I was so sick of swiffering our floors 10 times a day. We have all hardwood floors on our main floor and in all bedrooms which are beautiful, but they show everything on them so we are obsessed with keeping them clean with kids crawling on them. We've had a both an Iroomba and a Neato vacuum in the past, both which worked well, until they didn't anymore. After letting those vacuum, we still had dried mud pawprints on the floor. We also ran into issues with the spinning brushes getting tangled in hair or string. With this robot, we've used the pads for the mopping function, and do a quick sweep before it goes, and it makes the floors look incredible. I haven't used the solution yet as it doesn't come with it, and I am happy with just plain water and a few drops of lemon essential oil on the floor that it spreads out. My floors look and smell wonderful, you can schedule it to go when you want, and you don't have to mess with any nasty dirty mops! It's super quiet, looks really cool in our white kitchen, and our dogs barely even notice it. I was very nervous to spend this much money on yet another robot that will eventually stop working, but so far I'm really happy with our purchase! We had a new cleaning crew come to our house last week and while they did a great job, my husband's one complaint is the floors were still dirty in spots, so I pulled the trigger on this purchase and am so happy I did! I'll come back and update after we have it for longer but hopefully it continues to lessen my workload! :)
