Review: Charges when pencil is lined up correctly in the grip - I was about to return this as I couldn’t get it to charge (even though it would magnetically attach to the iPad). Then I read another review telling me about lining the flat side of the pencil with the magnetic side (look for the writing on the side of the case) and now it works perfectly! Using this grip and playing around with some new pencil tips has really improved my note taking on the iPad
Review: This is an objectively bad product. - I really think elago should do the right thing and remove this product from the market. It is entirely without use. It does actually succeed at part of what I believe its intended purpose is. It does look cool. It does make the Apple Pencil more comfortable to hold and use (although those with smaller hands MAY find it too bulky). However. It is very difficult to put on or remove. VERY difficult. I could live with this if it was a matter of installing it and not taking it off again until it wears out or get damaged. However, once installed, it barely attaches magnetically to the charging point. Again, I could possibly live with this as I don't tend to store my pencil on told of the iPad as it too easily gets unintentionally knocked off and therefore I only put it there to charge. However, it doesn't charge with the case on. So, the only way to use this is to charge your pencil, fight the damn thing on, use until the battery depletes, then fight the damn thing off again to charge. I'm not kidding when I say it's really, really hard to get on and off. It's a complete failure as a product. Avoid.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how wide does this make the apple pencil?**
A: To big to hold

**Q: How wide does this make the pencil? I will be removing for charging**
A: Almost doubles the width of the pencil and makes attaching to the iPad/ charging with it almost impossible. Taking the case on and off is also a hassle, so charging and storing quickly can be difficult.

**Q: Can I use a nib cover with this cover please**
A: Yes, you can. I slide the pencil cover over the pencil with the nib cover in place. It holds the nib cover in place quite well.

**Q: Is it compatible with the apple brand case on an iPad Air?**
A: If the case has a cut out for the Apple Pencil then yes it’s compatible.
My case (not Apple) has a cut out and I don’t need to remove the sleeve to charge the pencil. You have to ensure that the pencil has been registered by the iPad so you know that it is charging.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ So amazing!
*by G***A on 10 September 2022*

Amazing value for money, easy to get on and off, feels great and looks the part. The only negative thing I have to say is that the magnetic side of your apple pencil has to be on the opposite side from the hole to double-tap? If you look close, there is a "magnetic" side opposite the elago logo. When put in this way, the magnet is strong enough to hold and charge your pen. If you're struggling to charge, I would suggest turning the pen around in the case!
