Review: Fantastic Dash Cam AND Customer Service!! - *****UPDATE***** I bought this dashcam in Feb 2022 and as mentioned in my initial and amended review, I received outstanding customer support. I want to reporrt that almost two years later, this dashcam is working FLAWLESSLY. I have never had an issue and it has served me very well. I do not need a new dashcam, but if I did, the REDTIGER F7N 4K dashcam would be my choice. It was money well spent. And for full disclosure, REDTIGER does not know I am writing an update; I only thought of it because my friend down the street asked if I had a dashcam and, if so, what brand/model? Easy answer and recommendation. I hope he is as happy as I have been! I've wanted a dashcam for my 2015 Chrysler Town & Country for the longest time. I did a ton of research before buying and delayed purchasing for quite some time. While I'm sure some of the competitor models are good, I finally decided on the REDTIGER 4K front/rear dashcam. I liked this one for the features and the great feedback I saw. REDTIGER dashcam shows very clear images, has Bluetooth and GPS capability, and a parking mode if hardwired (I didn't do that part yet, but I'm about to). Installation is on the right side of the rear view mirror and that actually is good since you don't want to be gawking at the camera and not at the road. I just connected it to my iPhone today using the UCAM app and it worked flawlessly. Great field of view, clarity, and smoothness. If I wanted to take a photo or save the video, it was just a press of a button on the phone. I was very impressed. Installation was ridiculously simple and that part startled me because I am not usually adept at this type of thing. Except for the 2-3 inches of wires by camera, the wiring is totally invisible. I do recommend going on YouTube and watching how to install the rear camera on a hatchback to get the wiring in the correct location. Customer service was exceptional!! I had purchased the dashcam for $149.99 along with a hardwire kit to use the cam in parking mode that was paired with the cam for another $18.99. The dash cam comes with a 32GB mini-card, but I upgraded to a 256GB mini-card. Well, the paired hardwiring kit had the wrong plug so it had to go back. While looking on desertcart, I saw a new deal for the exact same REDTIGER 4K dashcam for $118.99. I asked desertcart for a credit, but they said I had to return the unit and reorder. So I reordered the dashcam, but I decided to wait on the wiring. The new unit came in the next day, but it did not have the 32GB mini card. I received an email from Ms. Shelly, REDTIGER representative, who was concerned that I had a poor experience. I explained that wasn't true; I simply couldn't get a credit from desertcart. I told her the hardwiring kit wasn't correct and the mini-card was missing on the new unit. Ms. Shelly from REDTIGER immediately apologized profusely and said the company would make it right. She was professional, patient, and knowledgeable - very customer service-friendly. I asked about an extention cable to the rear of the van and the cost because I wasn't sure the supplied rear camera cable would be long enough (I hadn't installed it yet). But REDTIGER company promptly sent me one free of charge! As it turns out, the original cable was just long enough, but if I decide to reconfigure the cable location, this extension will come in handy. Oh, and they also gave me a new hardwiring kit free, AND gave me a credit for the missing 32GB mini-card, even though I said it was ok because I had purchased the 256GB card. I offered to pay for the wires up front, but they wouldn't hear of it. The point is that REDTIGER, through Ms. Shelly, provided OUTSTANDING and PROMPT customer service. They didn't have to reach out, but they did. They didn't have to be concerned, but they were. They didn't have to provide the accessories for free, but they wouldn't take no for an answer. They went out of their way to make it right, and they weren't even the ones at fault!! And Shelly is simply the BEST!! She demonstrated the company really cares. I cannot speak to the folks who didn't enjoy this dashcam, and here's hoping it works for a long time (it's not even close to hot outside yet). But I am absolutely thrilled with both the cam and the company. I highly recommend this brand and trust me, it usually takes a lot for this old Air Force retiree to recommend anything - this was my experience. Sure glad I bought this REDTIGER dash cam. ADDENDUM: After about 6 weeks, I did experience an issue with the camera not synching with my new phone. I contacted REDTIGER and Ms. Shelly was genuinely concerned and immediately sent me a new unit. This new dash cam works perfectly and I am grateful for the absolutely OUTSTANDING customer service AFTER the sale. This is the customer service one would expect from all sellers, but we all know that doesn't always happen. I mean, how many times have you read where customers got stiffed because it was after the return window? I can testify that mine was after the return window, too - But REDTIGER stands by their product and made it right without any hassles. They just took care of the problem. My new unit arrived exactly 24 hours after the conversation with Shelly. I stand by my earlier comments that I am so glad I bought the REDTIGER dash cam. This one is working just fine.
Review: Requires formatting SD card every 15 days or would stop recording - See Update - --- UPDATE March 20, 2024 Excellent customer service. This seller made sure I received all the possible help to resolve my issue and went above and beyond. Kudos to REDTIGER. Camera is working as expected and no issues have been found after the last update. I'm very happy with this dash camera and its features. --- UPDATE January 23, 2024 Good customer support but still facing the same problem. You have to format the card once it gets full. I was contacted by their customer support and was asked to do a firmware upgrade using the file "F7N_v1.20231108.0_318ENKEY.V140" and following the instruction listed on their website. I did the firmware upgrade on December 12 2023 and it was working fine until January 16 2024 when I got the same problem again. While I was driving through town I heard a loud beeping sound and saw a red rectangle on the camera little screen indicating a "Card error. please try to reboot". Of course, once again I'm driving and this camera was beeping constantly so I had to pull over, stop the car and deal with the error message. I rebooted the camera with no change. Same beeping sound and Card error message popped up again. I power-cycle the camera two more times with same result "card error". I had to go thru the menu and format the card and that seems fixed the issue. Doy you see what I mean? it is unacceptable to have a camera that stops recording, starts beeping continuously and the only way to make it work is to manually format the SD card. I have owned several DVR dash cameras through the years, from cheap to expensive (HP, Garmin, Cobra, Kingslim, Rexing, etc) and this is the first camera I came across with this issue. Are you guys working on a new fix? ---- original review ---- My biggest concern is that it will stop recording in the middle of a trip regardless of the distance. In order to fix it you have to pull over to manually format the SD card which means all the previous recordings will be lost. I bought this REDTIGER F7N 4K camera to replace an obnoxious Rexing V1P 3rd generation that was failing 50% of the time. This REDTIGER camera was a breeze to install and it was an upgrade from my old one with much better 4K definition on the front and 2.5K on the rear camera. I installed it on my wife's Tacoma and she was very happy specially because she no longer had to unplug the old camera every other time she drove the truck. I put a 128Gb SD card and off she goes. Well, our happiness last three weeks when she told me the camera was making a beeping sound and displaying something on the screen and it was no longer recording. My first thought was there might be something wrong with the SD card so I did the format and told wife you are all set. Two weeks later the same thing happened so with! Turns out that this camera does NOT overwrite previous recordings so when the SD cards gets full it just stop recording until you manually erase/delete all file using the "format" SD card which is a pain in the butt because you have to go through a series of steps in the little screen and takes time. Like I said, for your own security you have to do it safely parked and not while driving. It might be something silly for some but for me is a deal-breaker. Too bad my return window has passed and now I'm stuck with this camera.

**Q: 24h parking monitoring question: to set up a hardwire it is pretty hard for me. Is that possible if i can connect it to powerbank for example?**
A: Thank you for your question.
 If you can ensure that the external power supply is 2.5 amps, you can use the power bank. But the power bank cannot support the dash cam to work all the time, and it needs at least 2000MA of electricity per hour. What's more, if power bank works in high temperature for long time,it is prone to fire. Therefore, we do not recommend using a power bank to provide power to the dash cam for a long time.
And the installation of the hardwire kit is not complicated, you can watch our installation video.

**Q: Can I install 2 of this cameras and Control them from the same phone ?**
A: You can use the same mobile phone to connect to different recorders but you cannot control two at the same time. You need to cut off the link with the first one before you can connect to the second one.

A: Thank you for your question. You can contact us through the contact information in the manual. Then tell me the current software version of your dash cam, and we will share the new one with you. I have had the camera for four years. I never did hook up the rear camera. It's been a great camera, never missed a key event. Everything worked great; great image. My previous dashcam stopped in the middle of a key event and restarted about 20 seconds later missing the event. I replaced it with this one. A month ago, it quit working. It appears to cycle on and off. Perhaps that is the life expectance. Following the trouble shooting instructions, I received no email replay after 16 days nor instructions when I sought help from there online help feature, about a week ago. It's time to get a new one.
