Windows 10 installed the drivers automatically the first time I inserted my card and connected to my docking station and attached to the under side of my desk with double sided tape this devise works perfectly for the task I bought it for. The plastic is thick enough that the case feels solid but as it is light it is likely to wander about your work surface unless you fasten it in place somehow.

**Q: Does it work with Portuguese ID card?**
A: Not for me it hasn't, keeps saying card not recognised.  Perhaps I was sent a faulty one.  Am now on the hunt for an alternative

**Q: Can this be used to write pin codes/keys onto smart cards for file encryption? ie no smart card + pin = no decryption (macos)**
A: The EW1055 is designed for reading smart cards. It has no possibility to program smart cards.

**Q: Does this work with nhs smart cards?**
A: No
