Luckily this home had a railing in place. We purchased one pack of these and find the solution very stable and easy to use. Just ordered a second pack to be able to display some family pictures. Disliked the price but was unable to find any product like this. I have very strong picture frame moulding all around my old house and using these is much better than trying to find studs in plaster walls and the subsequent process of putting nails through plaster. This system allows me to hang art without making holes in my walls. If I decide I don't like my arrangement of pictures, I can move them or adjust their hight on the wall in a matter of minutes. On the downside, all picture frames tilt downward to some extent. Adjusting the length of the picture wire can reduce the tilt somewhat. However, with some of my art, the tilt was too obvious and unattractive to use the system.
