The product of course holds the angle of the edge constant due to the Lansky system. You can touch up pretty much any irregular blade shape with this stone. It is a fine stone, so it may take a while to get a nice sharp edge from a dull edge. I have been successful at sharpening serrated knives. The instructions given where very helpful.
