We purchased these brackets, reapplied the led strip with the adhesive, and secured the strip by using a bracket every 18 inches. They work as expected. It's been more than a month and the combination of the adhesive backing that came on the led strip and these brackets has kept the strip straight and fully mounted. (I expected some sag between brackets, but there isn't any.) The daughter is pleased. The one caution for buyers. Doublecheck the type of led strip you're using. The led lights come in different widths and there is generally a difference in shape between indoor and outdoor/weatherproof strips. We happened to use the outdoor version of led strip.
