The build is nice enough that I have no significant complaints other than the force of the keys springing back is a bit much, but not too much to get used to.I only bought this to control my MPC and other synths but when I plugged it in and realized all of the onboard sounds, I was pleasantly surprised. The sounds a quite nice. From piano, to sitar, to gunshot sounds, it has a great selection. Even the drum pads are responsive to velocity and have a number of useful samples.The knobs and buttons are of good build and easy to use.Highly recommend for the player that doesn’t want to break the bank on a useful controller. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great value! Documentation is not great, but it's simple and straightforward. Here's what you get. Firstly this has a real metal enclosure with plastic end pieces. The red aluminum is attractive. Excellent full-sized velocity-sensitive "synth-style" keys, a solid-state pitch/modulation slider, fully-assignable switches and knobs. USB powered. 5 pin MIDI IN and OUT. (no thru) A General MIDI tone module. Nothing special but clean, high-resolution sound including drum kits and effects.The combination of all these features at this price make the 61-key or 88-key models of the X pro series ideal for either beginners who might want to use a simple DAW like Garage Band, or more advanced users. The built-in sound lets you get started immediately and the advanced MIDI capabilities grow with you as you do. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Generally speaking MIDI... *by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on 11 May 2023* Pros: Wow! What a great little Keyboard/Controller. I'm in a Touring Concert Band and my Station is one of a Multi-Instrumentalist which includes Guitar, Bass AND one of the three Keyboard Stations. It's rather cumbersome to carry around two racks full of gear (one for Guitar and Bass and another for Keyboards) so while looking for something cheap to lighten my load and simplify my Rehearsal setups, I came across this Keyboard/Controller. I haven't had it on Stage yet but for Practicing and for Rehearsals this little X6 Pro from MIDIPlus is perfect. The preloaded General MIDI (GM) sounds seem to be passible enough for Novices and for Rehearsals. What seems to be the best thing to me is the ability to also control not only the Virtual Instruments in my DAW via USB but the ability to control my outboard Sound Modules via 5-Pin MIDI as well. The MIDIPlus X6 Pro is light weight and the colors (Red & White) really stand out from all the Grey, Silver and Black Keyboards in my stable. Other Keyboard players have even commented on the appearance and flexibility of the X6 Pro. While I wouldn't replace my Vintage Yamaha KX88 or any of my more contemporary Controllers, I will most certainly be adding this to my Station whenever I take to the Stage on the next leg of the Tour. I still have another slot open on one of my Stands and I'm considering purchasing the X8 Pro, 88 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller to fill that spot.There are but two Cons: #1 - Some of the built-in GM sounds (the Organs, for instance) are a bit on the "I won't ever try that one again" Category while other sounds (such as the Pianos) are decent enough to use on Stage. #2 - Some initiates into the MIDI World might find that they have issues understanding how to Program various Buttons, Knobs and other functions while referring to the provided Manual. Having basic understanding of how to program MIDI was a definite help to me as the Manual wasn't so clear in a lot of areas.My Take-Away? if you want a good quality, inexpensive Keyboard/Controller to play around with or to give to someone who wants to learn to play Keyboard, THIS is definitely the way to go.
