Make sure you have the right tools before starting this process, like very small screwdriver with magnet, and a plastic spatula used to detach plastic components. It happened to me that some screw wasn't loosening and I damaged the head and the screwdriver won't grip to it anymore, so if you have some extra tight screw don't damaged the head or you will have a bad time, like me.Returning to the product, it feels smooth and with quality, the blacklit only works when turning on, so I guess is something I have to configure withing the system. For the price, is more than excellent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not easy to replace but worth the time *by J***H on May 10, 2024* The keyboard on my Dell G5 15-5587 worked intermittently and slowly worsen. This keyboard looks and feels the same. The process of replacing is tedious and takes me about 2 hours after watching several YouTube videos. There are two ribbon cables that need to be folded correctly, especially the smaller one (it's not a simple fold) and they are easily torn. Check the old keyboard and pay attention to which way the cables are facing (top/bottom). I would recommend to practice on a piece of paper first. The keyboard came a day late but I didn't mind. It cost less than half the price of an OEM keyboard. ### ⭐ DON'T BUY THIS BRAND *by X***N on April 12, 2025* What a load of crap! I replaced my keyboard and battery at the same time, and experienced some issues with the PC afterward where I needed to take the whole thing to a shop for help. I did notice while connecting the keyboard that there was no connector for the backlight, and as it turns out, there is actually no backlight even though the item description states that there is. The real kick in the butt though is realizing, after paying for the shop to figure out why my PC wasn't booting, to get it home and discover upon examination that the keyboard is in FRENCH. This isn't what I ordered!!! It does work, but the keys are laid out different than the US keyboard.
