Review: Nice quality addition to my Home Assistant automation - You can tell that the motion sensor is a good quality, plus it paired easily with my Zigbee dongle for my Home Assistant. It’s coverage is good and I have yet to have an instance where it detected someone when no one was there or didn’t detect someone when someone was there. That’s all I can ask of quality motion.

A+ - I'm using this with a closet light where the wall switch gets inevitably blocked behind some clothes and is mildly troublesome to switch on and off. Now, it is set to come on when motion in the closet is detected and stays on for a few minutes then goes off. Setup was as easy as it gets thru Smartthings and from motion detection to light on, the time is milliseconds. Smartthings shows motion state and temp. Very happy with it so far and highly recommend.

**Q: Does this product work with Vera?**
A: If Vera supports the Zigbee protocol, it will.

**Q: Does this generate false alarms?**
A: Very, very rarely. Maybe once every 3-4 months - and I have 7 of them throughout my house.

**Q: Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the sensor? does require a hub? i have an echo (with zigbee)**
A: Motion Sensor is a Zigbee device, so it does require a hub to utilize its features.  It does transmit motion data to Echo Zigbee hub and can be used for automations such as triggering Zigbee lights.  However, the temperature sensor does not currently display in the Amazon smart home app, but you can still get the sensor's temperature reading by asking Alexa  and you can also use it in routines.  However, using Aeotec Smart Home Hub provides the most robust features of the sensors, including sensitivity adjustments.

**Q: Can this be used to turn on a smart switch light?**
A: Yes, as long as this Aeotec SmartThings Motion Sensor is connected to the same hub as the Smart Switch, you can utilize a custom automation to create a trigger with the motion sensor to turn a light on or off automatically.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Battery Type Confusion

I have a bunch of these that I bought under the Samsung brand some years ago. This one is identical to the others. I've never had an issue with any of them. Motion detection speed and response time is excellent. I was concerned about which type of battery this one needed as the description mentions both a CR2 and a CR123. I was relieved when I opened this one up that the correct battery is a CR2, which saved me from having to stock another type of battery!
