## Description

A proven glazing putty for wood sash that has been around for decades. It is the superior vegetable oil based (soybean and linseed oil) compound. This is the best production putty available. Type "M" is a quick skinning product, usually forming a strong enough surface skin to be painted in 3-5 days depending on temperature. Type "M" is for inside shop glazing only. Packaged in a convenient quart or gallon sized bucket with resealable lid.

Review: Superior glazing putty. - Far better than DAP44, this putty handles much better, and hardens to a paintable surface in a few days instead of a few months. The best advice I got from the internet was that before you use this for the first time, empty the entire container onto a clean surface and knead it for about 10 minutes. Then pack it back into the container and work from there. As you pull out chunks of it to use on your windows, knead them for a few minutes and the product becomes much more pliable.
Review: Makes glazing windows so much easier! - I've glazed windows many times and it is never a fun chore. I've always used DAP brand glaze because it is usually what is available and what the average DIYer is familiar with. After watching many youtube videos trying to perfect my technique I realized it wasn't my technique...it was the product I was using. I hated the idea of spending so much money for glazing but with a massive 130 Victorian home with all 23 original and massive windows (seriously, I have 10 panes that 5' by almost 3' each!) I really needed to do something difficult. So the talking heads on the YT were mostly using Sarco. It arrived quickly and I got right to work on my first window. Let me tell you...this stuff was amazing! I got my beads down with one pass. The other stuff ends up sticking and pulling and leaving a not show good finish, and often times I would have to pull it out and redo and then smooth everything out with boiled linseed oil (which also delays drying time). With Sarco I didn't have to redo any of my glazing, I didn't have to tweak or smooth anything out, the glaze laid right down and made a beautiful finish. I will never go back to DAP again for glazing. Sarco IS worth the extra money in finish and in reducing frustration!!!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Outside use or only inside facing glaze? Says Type m is for inside shop only.**
A: Hello! When we say "inside shop" we are referring to the application of the product. You don't want to apply the putty and leave it outside before painting. Type M is for exterior or interior side facing windows. I hope this answered your question.

**Q: What is the best way to keep it from hardening between uses?
I tried plastic wrap on the surface, but of course there were small gaps around the edge**
A: Plastic wrap is good. You can also add a layer of water on top of the plastic wrap to press the edges more tightly against the sides of the container. Of course, store the container upright on a shelf. Just pour the water off before removing the plastic wrap for your next use.

**Q: Can I use this outside in the fall? I don't want to take the entire window off. I have storm windows, so it will be protected against rain.**
A: It is only recommended for glazing in a shop and is only for wood sash (not for steel windows). Despite this, I have had decent success using it sparingly outside as long as I get it painted in the 3-5 day range after application. All in all, this is my favorite putty! <------ That's per Sarco. Sarco needs at least 3-4 days to skin over, and I'd be leery of using it if the temperature gets below 50 degrees.

**Q: Will this work with water based paint or lacquer?**
A: Once it dries you can use water based paint over the top of it. I used a basic water based acrylic house paint over the top of it with no issues. Takes many days to dry/harden, but I loved working with this so have used often.
