A: This is an acid and will instantly dissolve the clear oxidation present on aluminum. The result is absolutely a dull aluminum raw surface which must be polished after. Personally, the best way to clean aluminum parts is in a vibratory tumbler with walnut shell media with a bottle of aluminum polish added in. Parts come out like a mirror.
