What is the output for 8 ohm speakers?** A: It does give 80 Watts for 8 Ohm speakers as well. More than 80 Watts and the signal starts to clip. **Q: Do the receivers have a cooling fan? If they do, does it come on only during times of peak demand or is it continuous? How much noise does it make?** A: The receivers do not require heating fans. They are cooled by air flow. **Q: would I need one of these for each speaker as well as the receiver that attaches to my main reciever?** A: Well the picture shown is an amplfier which attaches to your speaker. You xan also use a receiver( with no amplifier) with your speakers. Either one or the oth r r not both. You will need the proper matched transmitter(same series) that you will hook up to your original speaker hook up. Keep same the series of transmitter, amplifier ,or receiver. If your use the amplifier for your speakers y I u will need to adjust the volume knob for your preference. This will take several attempts before you will be satisfied, the work will pay off. Another note I found is to trash the "bell" wire that cone's with the transmitter and amplifier, or receiver and go to any hardware store and get yourself some regular 16/2 lamp cord and use this for all of your connections. Or you can spend several dollars more and for some fancy "speaker" wire which will be the same as lamp cord. I like my system and my wife loves not seeing any wires in the room not. I hope this helps. One more thing, read directions for pai ring the system and be patient it will work. Wait for green flash on transmitter and then go to amp or receiver. **Q: I have two unpower speakers and sony receiver, do you recommend this system** A: I'm assuming you don't want to run speaker line from the receiver to your speakers. This system will require you to plug in the two wireless receivers/amps that connect to each speaker. If that is ok with you, I would say I am pretty impressed with the system so far. So nice not having to run cable to the rear speakers.
